RingCentral Pricing Explained (2026)

RingCentral RingEX pricing for 2026: Core and Advanced per-user rates, annual vs monthly billing, SMS limits, add-on costs and what small teams really pay.

Short answer: RingCentral RingEX starts at $30 per user per month billed monthly, or $20 per user per month billed annually, for the Core plan. Advanced is $35 monthly or $25 annually per user. Most of the cost surprises come from add-ons: SMS boosters, call queue tools, extra numbers and the AI Receptionist, which starts at $39 per month.

All figures below are from RingCentral's plans and pricing page as checked on October 1, 2026, and exclude taxes and fees.

What small teams pay

Team size Core, monthly Core, annual Advanced, monthly Advanced, annual
1 user $30 $20 $35 $25
3 users $90 $60 $105 $75
5 users $150 $100 $175 $125
10 users $300 $200 $350 $250

Add the AI Receptionist ($39 and up), an SMS Booster ($25) if 25 texts per person is not enough, and $4.99 for each extra number. A five-person team on monthly Core that adds the AI Receptionist and SMS Booster is at $214 per month before taxes.

Monthly vs annual billing

The annual discount is large: $10 per user per month on both Core and Advanced. For a 10-person team, that is $1,200 per year. The trade-off is commitment. If your headcount might shrink, or you are not sure RingCentral is the right long-term fit, monthly billing keeps your options open at a higher price.

Other RingCentral products you may be quoted

Sales conversations often bundle more than RingEX. The pricing page lists RingCX AI Contact Center from $65 per agent per month, RingCentral Events from $99 per organizer per month, Webinar from $30 per organizer per month and Rooms from $39 per room per month. None of these are needed for basic business calling, so ask for them to be quoted separately.

Things the price does not show

SMS allowances

The 25-texts-per-user limit on Core is the most common surprise for service businesses. Appointment reminders, confirmations and quick replies add up quickly. If texting matters, compare Advanced (100 per user) against Core plus the SMS Booster.

Free trial limits

RingCentral's 14-day free trial is for new subscribers only. Texting is not available during the trial, so you cannot test SMS workflows before paying. Any trial hardware must be returned within 21 days of cancellation to avoid charges.

Hardware

Desk phones are optional but cost extra, and RingCentral notes that phone rental is available only with a multi-year contract.

Taxes and fees

Regulatory fees and taxes are added to every bill and vary by location.

How RingCentral compares with other per-user vendors

On month-to-month list price, RingEX Core sits at the upper end of the small-business market. These are the lowest plans with calling and texting from several well-known vendors, as published on each vendor's pricing page in late September 2026.

Vendor and plan Per user, monthly billing 5 users per month
Quo Starter $19 $95
Nextiva Core $23 $115
Ooma Office Pro $24.95 $124.75
Dialpad Standard $27 $135
RingCentral RingEX Core $30 $150

On annual billing the gap narrows: RingEX Core at $20 per user is competitive with most of the field. The question is less about the base price and more about which add-ons your team will need on top.

Ways to keep RingCentral costs down

  • Buy annual only once you are sure. Run the free trial, then commit to annual pricing if the system fits.
  • Do not over-license. Shared lines, such as a front-desk number, can often be handled with call queues instead of a paid user for every person who picks up occasionally.
  • Pick Advanced only if you need it. Automatic recording and 100 texts per user are the main differences from Core for small teams.
  • Audit numbers. At $4.99 each, unused extra numbers add up.
  • Price the AI Receptionist against a human answering service and against per-minute AI options before you add it.

Is RingCentral worth the price?

RingCentral earns its price when you use the breadth: video meetings, team messaging, fax, more than 330 integrations including Salesforce and HubSpot, multi-site administration and a contact center product (RingCX, from $65 per agent per month). For organizations replacing an on-premise PBX across several locations, that breadth is the point.

For a small team that mainly makes calls, sends texts and checks voicemail, much of that breadth goes unused while the per-user bill keeps climbing with every hire.

A Callata comparison

Callata charges $99 per month with five users included and $20 for each additional user, with up to three local numbers, unlimited inbound calling and 1,500 pooled outbound US and Canada minutes per user (then $0.01 per minute), team texting after a one-time $49 carrier registration, call recording with AI summaries and voicemail transcription. AI agents are optional at $0.25 per minute of use.

At four or more users on monthly billing, Callata costs less than RingEX Core; at one to three users, Core is cheaper. On annual billing, RingCentral Core is cheaper for one to four users and about even from five users up, where Callata is $1 per month less (for example, $99 versus $100 at five users and $199 versus $200 at ten). Callata does not offer video, fax, a native mobile app, toll-free numbers or a CRM integration marketplace, so it is not a like-for-like replacement for teams that need those.

RingCentral pricing checklist

  • Decide between monthly and annual billing based on how stable your headcount is.
  • Estimate texts per person per month against the 25 or 100 SMS allowance.
  • Price the AI Receptionist if you want calls answered automatically.
  • Count extra numbers at $4.99 each.
  • Ask about hardware and any multi-year requirement before ordering phones.
