Talkroute Pricing Explained (2026)

Talkroute pricing for 2026: Basic, Plus and Pro account plans, extra users and numbers, texting fees, bulk texting tiers and AI Receptionist minute rates.

Short answer: Talkroute prices its business phone plans per account rather than per user: Basic is $19 per month, Plus $39 and Pro $59, billed monthly with no contract. Each plan bundles a set number of users, numbers and monthly texts, and you pay $5 per month for each extra user, number or mailbox. AI Receptionist and bulk texting are separate add-on plans.

All figures come from talkroute.com/pricing as checked on October 1, 2026, and exclude taxes and fees. Talkroute notes that annual billing is available at a discount but does not list annual prices on the page.

What different teams pay

Team Plan choice Monthly total
Solo owner, one number Basic $19 + $1.50 campaign fee
3-person office Plus $39
5-person office that records calls Pro $59
12-person office Pro + 2 extra users $69
10-person office with AI receptionist, 250 minutes Pro + AI Growth $158

The jump from Plus to Pro is worth noting. Call recording, reporting and unlimited menus are only on Pro, so a three-person team that needs recording pays $59 rather than $39.

Reading the plan limits correctly

Users, mailboxes and numbers are separate

Talkroute counts three things separately: account users (people who log in to make and take calls), mailboxes (voicemail boxes) and phone numbers. A plan can run out of one before the others. A five-person office on Plus has three users included, so it needs two extra users at $5 each ($49 total), even though Plus's two numbers might be plenty. At that point Pro at $59 is only $10 more and adds call recording, reporting and unlimited menus, so many teams of four or more end up on Pro.

Local vs toll-free texting

Talkroute numbers can be local or toll-free, and both can text, but each goes through a different carrier process. Local numbers need 10DLC registration (the $19 or $15 one-time fee on Basic and Plus), while toll-free numbers need toll-free verification. The pricing page shows no monthly toll-free campaign fee. If texting is central to your business, check which number type your customers already know before you register.

Message limits are platform-based

Talkroute's notes say its message limits are platform-based and are not billed as usage. In practice, a business that sends more than its plan allows needs a bulk texting plan rather than paying per message.

When Enterprise makes sense

Enterprise starts at 20 users with 10 or more numbers, and adds an SLA and a dedicated account manager. If you have 20 or more people, compare an Enterprise quote with Pro plus extra users ($5 each). At 20 users, Pro plus 10 extra users comes to $109 per month, which sets a ceiling for what an Enterprise quote should be worth to you.

How Talkroute's model compares

Talkroute's account-based pricing is unusual. Most competitors, including RingCentral, Ooma, Nextiva and Quo, charge per user, so a 10-person team pays 10 times the listed price. Talkroute Pro covers 10 users for $59, which is far cheaper than any per-user plan at that size.

The limits are in the bundles. You get 3 numbers and 5,000 texts on Pro, and each user beyond 10 costs $5 more. A 30-person team would pay $159 on Pro with 20 extra users, or move to an Enterprise quote.

Talkroute vs Callata on price

Callata Office is $99 per month with five users included, plus $20 for each additional user, and up to three local numbers. Calling covers unlimited inbound calling and 1,500 pooled outbound US and Canada minutes per user (then $0.01 per minute). It includes call recording with AI summaries, voicemail transcription with urgency triage, business-hours routing, ring groups and extensions, and E911. Texting requires a one-time $49 registration. AI agents bill at $0.25 per minute used, with no monthly AI plan.

Talkroute is cheaper at every team size: Pro covers 10 users for $59, while Callata is $99 for up to five users and $199 for ten. Above 10 users the gap widens, since Talkroute adds $5 per person and Callata $20. Talkroute also adds video meetings, native apps, 24/7 phone support, toll-free options and a HIPAA BAA. For AI, Talkroute's Scale plan reaches $0.25 per extra minute only after a $199 monthly commitment; Callata charges $0.25 from the first minute.

Checklist before choosing a Talkroute plan

  • Count users, including part-timers who answer the main line.
  • Decide whether you need call recording; if yes, start at Pro.
  • Estimate texts per month against 500, 2,000 or 5,000.
  • Price registration fees on Basic and Plus.
  • If you want an AI receptionist, estimate minutes per month before picking a tier.
  • Ask about annual pricing, since the page mentions a discount but lists no figures.
